The Fabric Arts program will begin in May and culminate in an exhibition and sale in October at the Interurban Gallery. This program gives the diverse community of the Downtown Eastside opportunities to drop-in and create together in quilt-making and other fabric arts.

Music of the Returning Journey

“Music Of The Returning Journey” is a creative opportunity to blend the authenticity of southern blues with traditional “big drums” or Pow Wow drums of the First Nations culture. This is a uniquely Canadian concept. The concept for “Music Of The Returning Journey” is to explore, through songwriting and performance, the connection between traditional indigenous music and the blues.

Sing Sing Sing

Sing Sing Sing is a music and song program which gives anyone who wants to sing the opportunity to drop-in. The Downtown Eastside Centre for the Arts will work with people in the community to create a well-rounded vocal and singing program. Possibilities include vocal coaching, singing in a choir setting, and stage presentation from a vocalist perspective.
